Client Interview

JBS USA provides monthly managed IT services for this customer, supporting everything from day-to-day IT support to file servers, backup environments, and other core IT infrastructure, over many years.

We spoke with T-san about why they chose JBS USA as their IT partner, and how they view the support they receive today.

01. IT Environment and Challenges Before JBS USA

JBS USA: Before working with JBS USA, how was your IT environment managed, and what challenges did you face?

T-san: Over a decade ago, we relied on an outside IT contractor to build and manage our systems. But we found ourselves overly dependent on that one individual, and we felt it was a challenge to build a structure where the company itself could manage its IT environment on an ongoing basis.

Rather than having IT knowledge and management concentrated in one person, we felt we needed a setup where an organization could manage and support us in a stable, sustainable way.

02. Why the Customer Chose JBS USA

JBS USA: Out of all the IT companies out there, what led you to choose JBS USA?

T-san: It started when one of our expatriate staff, who had relocated from Japan, was already familiar with JBS (our headquarters in Japan). JBS USA’s proposal was also strong, and it gave us confidence that we could trust them with our IT.

Knowing that JBS has a large headquarters in Japan, and that JBS USA could coordinate with the Japan headquarters for support whenever something came up — not just handle things on their own — was also a major source of reassurance.

Rather than depending on an individual IT contractor, being able to receive managed IT services on an organizational, long-term, company-to-company basis was one of the reasons we chose JBS USA.

03. How Managed IT Services Are Used Today

JBS USA: Today, in what situations do you make use of JBS USA’s monthly managed IT services?

T-san: Beyond day-to-day IT support, we regularly rely on JBS USA on the IT infrastructure that supports our business, including our file servers and backup servers.

It’s not just about routine IT operations — JBS USA is someone who offers us proposals where our IT environment should go next.

04. Thoughts on Investing in IT

JBS USA: How do you think about investing in your IT environment, including servers and systems?

T-san: We believe it’s important to build in some headroom for future data growth, rather than waiting to react only after a problem occurs.

At the same time, the budget available for IT changes depending on the company’s performance and circumstances at any given time. That’s why it matters to have a partner who can recommend the right IT environment to fit our budget, at the right time to invest.

05. Evaluating JBS USA

JBS USA: What do you value most about the support you receive from JBS USA?

T-san: We feel a strong sense of reassurance from the consistent quality and ongoing nature of the support.

Even when something comes up, we can reach out with confidence, and we feel JBS USA is a partner we can rely on for our IT environment over the long term.

06. The Benefits of Working with an External IT Partner

JBS USA: What kind of companies do you think would benefit most from JBS USA’s IT support?

T-san: Even companies that have their own IT staff can run into trouble if they rely on just one or two people to manage everything — if that person is out for an extended period or leaves the company, the impact on the business can be significant. Working with an external IT company, on the other hand, means you’re not dependent on any one individual, and we believe you can build a structure to manage IT knowledge and know-how on an ongoing basis. For maintaining stable IT operations, there’s real value in working with an external IT partner like JBS USA. Having a partner who can respond with confidence is also valuable as a backup for your own internal IT staff.
